I bought the Globe for my Granddaughter for Christmas. She's 11 years old and I thought it was a good educational tool. She enjoyed receiving it.
This globe allows me to easily find countries and appreciate their position on the planet better than any flat map or atlas can. It is on my desk and used frequently as I do my armchair travels.
This is 12" globe. seems sturdy for $33 pricetag. My kid is learning geography now, recognizing continents & countries.
Coming back to globe, I'd definitely recommend it.
Unable to find a globe anywhere locally, I ordered this one from Weatherbuffs through Amazon. The map detail is very good, and the physically raised topography is a nice touch. The quality of the actual globe is better than I expected.
The actual base is a rather heavy plastic that has some weight and feels durable (durable enough for tabletop use anyway). But the plastic arm that holds the globe and attaches it to the base is rather flimsy. This is obviously not designed as a toy for unsupervised kids.
