The charger is compatible with worldwide voltage ranging from 100 to 240 volts, and it uses an LCD indicator to show how much your batteries are charged. When the display for a battery stops flashing, it's fully charged. The charger comes up with four AA batteries you can use right away. A refresh function lets batteries be charged to their maximum capacity, and an automatic cut-off prevents batteries from overheating due to overcharging. You can take the charger with you whenever you need portable power.ReviewsVery disappointed in the overall performance. It could be the batteries rather than the charger. They do not hold a charge very well.
Took 2 heavy duty batteries in a comparison test and I found that they lasted longer than my Sony batteries (fully charged). Sure it saves on the cost of replacing batteries but it is sad when I need to carry the extra set of 2 along as I know my device will need them before too long.
Be carefull! this charger is not a fast charger. I have an Enegizer 15 min-chager and it works better, if you are looking for speed. Anyway the Sony charger is a good one if need just a bettery charger.
Independent circuits and status readout are worth having!
No problems with batteries or the charger after 10 months.
I wish it was a little *slower*. The batteries get a little hot and maybe it's not good for them.
I also wish they bundled Low-Self-Discharge batteries with this premium quality charger instead of ordinary NiMH batteries.
To be fair, it may not be the fault of this particular product, but a characteristic of rechargeable batteries in general. At first, the batteries were real champions. Now, after about a year, they can't hold a charge for 24 hours and are quickly exhausted in the camera. I have no way of telling whether the fault lies with the charger or with the batteries. In any case, it's back to nonrechargeable batteries for me.
So far I'm not able to charge the batteries that came with it. They warn you that you need to fully decharge the batteries before charging them, which I did using their "reset" function. But despite that, I still get half charged batteries. Also I find it very slow to charge the batteries. I'll probably send it back.
