The unit is classified as a "deluxe" unit by VCT, however, it is below a decent quality. It is over-priced and does not meet minimum expectations. Even without a device connected to it, there is a disturbing level of humming noise; much higher than the other step down voltage transformers of similar power output that I have used in the past. Overheating is a big issue. Stay away from the Simran brand and VCT. The customer service also acts indifferently when contacted. I bought this converter when moving back from the US to Germany to support my NAS (network attached storage) - a device that runs 24/7. The power is more then sufficient so it is never overheated. I did not have a single problem, all is working just fine. Highly recommended. I would choose Simran-devices (I also have others) over any cheap chinaware.
