Opteka LP-E5 1800mAh Ultra High Capacity Li-ion Battery Pack for Canon Digital Rebel XS, XSi, & T1i Digital SLR Camera |
| Product DescriptionThe Opteka LP-E5 rechargeable lithium-ion 1800mAh battery is a replacement for replacement for Opteka LP-E5. It features lithium technology, which ensures maximum battery life and maximum power. It also features no memory effect that lets you recharge partially drained batteries without reducing performance.ReviewsThe batteries came quickly..charge well and hold their power. Who could ask for more? So glad I dumped the camera with the AA's.
The price according to the claims for this battery is really good. However, the truth is you get what you paid for. I got this as a backup and wishfully thought this would be on par with stock battery from Canon. Unfortunately, it only hold about 1/2 the charge. I'm disappointed that the battery is not what it claims to be. Also, it is made in Japan. I would assume better quality control.
I would definitely go with the Canon battery the next time.
I had this for 3 months now, no problem so far. Look and feel a bit cheap, but fit well with my Canon T1i. Battery last about 80% as long as comparable Canon original battery. When taking pics, Flash or no-Flash, I can not tell the difference between these batteries. For the price, which include both battery and charger, it is a good value as a backup IMHO.
I notice no difference and am pleased with the product. It is a good deal more economical than the kit battery. I like to keep a spare battery at all times since I've missed too many good photo opportunities of my children due to an out-of-juice-battery.
True, these are not Canon batteries, but one would ask how bad they can be? Well, pretty bad. I got two of these and put them into a grip, hence had 2x LP-E5 batteries at once. I barely took 150 photos, some 80 of them using flash, before both died. This is definitely better than 6x AA 'walgreens' batteries, which lasted for just a few shots, but sucks when compared with the Canon battery, which would give at least 600 photos per single battery, usually many more.
Don't buy this battery, as the original Canon LP-E5 costs maybe twice as much. It's simply not worth it.
