Keep your pool incredibly clean, crystal clear and fresh at all times. Reviews After reading mixed reviews about this product I decided to give it a try. Although I initially thought it would be a great product, I haven't found that to be true. Setup wasn't too much of a pain, since we have a 15 foot Intex metal frame pool. We added 120 pounds of salt to the pool and let that dissolve. We plugged it in and tried it out. For about a month it seemed to work. Or maybe I should say it indicated that it was working. The chlorine levels in the pool never measured anywhere near where they were supposed to be at any point while this was in use. Then one day out of the blue it gave a low salt error light. I went and bought another 80 pounds of salt. Added one bag to the pool and dissolved it, and also cleaned off the copper "plug" inside the system and then turned the saltwater system back on. It came on and less than a minute later began flashing the low salt code again, so I turned it back off. Used the other bag of salt. It worked for about a day and then the low salt warning came on again. After that point, I turned it off with the intention of returning it to get my money back. The other day I decided to give it another try and we bought 80 more pounds of salt. Added them both, let them dissolve, cleaned off the copper part again and then turned the system on. It was still going after five minutes. And still after 15 minutes. And even still after 30 minutes. I thought maybe it had decided to start working. But alas at some point between 30 minutes and 12 hours, the machine had shut itself off again and showed a low salt warning again. I'm tired of messing with it. A pool with less than 5000 gallons of water that doesn't need refilling shouldn't still be low after having that much salt added to it. It's going back. I have one word to all of you out there that couldn't get the chlorine level to register and kept having slimey water--- Cyanuric Acid! The manual does a bad job of stressing that this is sometimes crucial to add (depending on your local water type). I banged my head against the computer screen for a week trying to figure out why every morning after running the generator for 8 hours (according to the manual I only need to run it three hours) I would have no measurable chlorine. I definitely had the right amount of salt (a 15x42 pool with 100# of salt). Then I found the local pool store and they said I had to put Cyanuric Acid in or it would take weeks to get any measurable chlorine with the generator running. So I added a 1/2 pound of Cyanuric Acid. Ran the generator for 5 hours and I have normal chlorine levels the next day!!! Finally!! Works great. Love not having to deal with chlorine. Easier on eyes and skin. Makes pool maintenance easier. We have a 20 x 48 pool, put in 200 pounds of salt which cost around $30 total and have not had to add any more so far. They had it in the local stores for $199, so with the free shipping I got it cheaper from Amazon and delivered right to my door. Shipping was really quick too. Great product. Awesome. The last thing I wanted to do with our Intex 18' Easy Set pool was mess with the water chemistry every day. This makes that possible. Hook up was a breeze. I added the proper amount of salt to the water before turning it on for the first time. After that, chlorine is generated every night. Also, my copper level stays at .1 ppm, high enough to discourage algae growth, but still low enough to not cause any problems. This little unit is worth every penny. A little more research and development would have helped with the timer, but that is a small gripe. If power goes out, you have to reset the unit at the exact time you want it to come on. Not that big of a deal, but it could be improved. I bought this along with the Intex sand filter and pump, and my pool is about as maintenance free as it can get. This unit works great! Just set it and forget it. I'm very impressed with this unit. I left for vacation and when I got home the pool was still right on the money Crystal clear. For an above ground pool you can't go wrong with this product
