Reviews Watch works really good, took a couple of days to charge but that was without taking it out in the sun. Getting it set up can be a bit of a process, but it works great. I've had it for about a month now no complains. Only problem I have with it is that strap. If u have hair on ur wrist it'll rip if off from time to time, doesn't happen that much that it's unbearable but enough to remind me about it. Apart from that though its a great watch and for 170 it had to have some bug with it. I purchased this watch for my husband as a Christmas present. Since I had a bad experience with solar watches years ago (not Citizen) I decided to try it and make sure it works before I gave it to him. First thing I noticed once I opened it was, usually, all brand new watches have a very thin peace of cellophane on their screen but this one didn't have one. But it was a masculine and stylish watch.Our apartment doesn't have direct sunlight but it's quite bright! I put the watch in front of window for almost 4 hours and nothing happened! It did not get re-charged and therefore, I returned it. What can I say... Beautiful watch, kind of heavy, not too small nor too big, really cool features, VERY strong. I simply love my watch. I have it a few months ago and I can't get enough of it. Best watch I ever had. Mind you, I'm not a watch freak, means that I don't collect watchs nor check other watch features and compare. This review is for this watch and this watch alone. Worth every penny. After reading all the reviews listed I decided to purchase this watch for my husband for his birthday. He absolutely loved it! The band distinguishes it as different and the face is very nice. He spent two hours setting it up and gets many compliments. You will not regret this purchase! Let's get the basics out of the way. Once set (no simple procedure), the watch keeps excellent time. I assume that if you are considering this watch, you think it looks great. I agree, it does look great. The problem is, this watch is sold as a chronograph with perpetual calendar. It has two side buttons that you might think perform chronograph functions. You know, starting and stopping the sweep second hand in a simple manner. Well, you would be wrong. By the time you get this watch into chronograph mode, whatever you are trying to time is probably gone. Setting the watch to the proper time and date is a hoot. Definitely have your instruction booklet and reading glasses handy. Hopefully, you will not have to do a zero reset. If you do, then it's a lot more fun. To be fair, don't despair. You can do it. I did, and lived through the task with only a few deleted expletives along the way. Once the watch is set, you should be set for a long time. UNLESS, you decide to go on a trip to a different time zone and cross the dateline. Then you can have the fun all over again - twice. There is the local time LTM feature that permits your home-town time to be retained while the hands display the time where you are travelling. Would I recommend this watch? Yes. Do I like mine? Yes, now that it has been through the zero reset game. As long as you are informed in advance, I feel that the Citizen Chronograph is a nice watch, which never needs a battery. Make sure that it is fully charged going into winter, or you will definitely play "Zero-Reset". A day in the sun is enough. If you buy the watch in the spring or summer, you will have no problem. Ordinary wear without long sleeves will suffice to charge the battery and get you through to next spring. Citizen needs to rethink the setting procedure of this watch and the use of the two buttons for chronograph operation. By the way, these comments apply to all of the Citizens chronographs except the flight series.
