Reviews

I am an old SLR camera person (Minolta XD-11, with both aperature and shutter priority options). It was time to make the change to digital, and since I am now much older, unable to hike to distant mountain meadows, etc., this point & shoot camera turned out to be an excellent choice. Although my old SLRs were much more expensive and the top of the line in their day, this Canon surpasses my old Minolta in many ways--not the least of which is in cost and style.

I am thrilled with the exceptional clarity of the pictures, the crisp colors and the ease of operation. I recently took a trip from my home state of Montana to California, and had an option to try the video on this camera for the first time. Pictures of the various colored fish at the Scripp's Birch Acquarium are first-rate! Buy this camera while it's still available.

Today I am ordering more 4GB memory cards, as the video takes up so much room that you need to have extra cards on hand--just in case the opportunity to catch some good video presents itself.

So I bought a Cannon Powershot recently and it notoriously fell victim to the dreaded "lens error"! After many attempts at repairing it, no luck. Honestly though, I thought it was a great camera and if I hadn't kept it in my purse without a case, it probably would have been just fine. The real problem is that the on/off is a button as opposed to a switch, which made it very delicate to anything that happen to bump it. If the on/off button was inadvertently pushed (which was common with it being in my purse), it would turn on and the lens would get caught and bumped around... which I attribute to the eventual lens error. There are many cameras out there with the on/off as a switch... brilliant... it's all about the little things!

It is great for all my pictures. But it has a lot of problems in the dark. Everything is blurry and you can barely see anything in the picture. It does great with pictures of things in motion. I went to a jet show, and even when the jet zipped by us so that you could barely see it, it got the picture. It is also VERY easy to download your pictures onto the computer. I am very proud of this little camera.

I really like this camera. My dog chewed up my Kodak V570 which I liked, but I like the Canon much better. The zoom is very easy to use and conveniently located. The pictures come out looking great and the software that comes with the camera is easy to use. I think the price of this camera is competitive and you get your money's worth.

The quality of the pictures that you can take with this camera is excellent, and has a lot of features. It is easy to carry and to manipulate. I love it!
