I purchased this watch for my husband and he loves it. It is very slim and fits great underneath dress shirts and suits, but can still be "dressed down" and look great with jeans. We did need to have links removed because it has a fairly large circumference for the average man's wrist. But it still rates a solid 5* - a lot of bang for the buck! My trusty Seiko finally died and I was looking for a simple but stylish watch to replace it. I settled on this Bulova with its classic design and very attractive (possibly close-out) price. It has a sweep second hand, numbers at all positions, and a date function. The only additional feature I would have liked is a day-of-the-week function. I like an expansion band and this came with one, so I didn't have to replace a cloth or leather band for an aftermarket expansion band. This band is too complicated to adjust (remove links) at home, so I did have to take it to a jeweler, but that was no big deal to me. I'm pleased that the watch and band match so well. The watch is a bit oversized, but I consider that a positive feature. I can read it more easily with a quick glance. My prior watch had both a gold-tone case and a lighter gold tone face, but I find the white face of this one acceptable and perhaps even more striking. I'll have to wait a few years to see how well the movement holds up, and I am optimistic, considering Bulova's reputation for quality. Overall I'm delighted with the purchase. Pretty much what I expected. The dial is larger than previous watches I have owned. The wrist band is for large wrists. I'm not a small guy with a small wrist, but I'm going to have some links removed. The watch is light weight, and I think it is more attractive in real life than the pictures. I would definitely buy it again. I agree with Mr. Blood's review except for the part about it needing a light. The Arabic numerals are set well apart and styled in a traditional font, making it very easy to read. I had looked for a Bulova like this for over 2 years, and I trust Amazon to deliver the items they show, in pristine condition. Nice big easy to read numbers and a beautiful gold band. It looks like an expensive piece of jewelry decorating my wrist. It's exactly what I wanted though I wish it had a light.
