Product Description The Measurement Ltd. MS-4359 is a unique programmable tire pressure monitoring system. Built in tire pressure monitoring systems can cost 100's of dollars and require professional installation. The MS-4359 is a practical and economical alternative. The system features smart valve caps, which will remember your factory recommended pressure setting. Simply program the factory recommended tire pressure setting into the caps with the easy to use programmer/gauge, touch the programmer/gauge to the cap and it automatically checks the pressure with an accuracy of within 1 PSI. The gauge then gives you a reading using the familiar stop light indicator: green = ok, yellow = getting low, or red = needs air. Check the pressure in all four tires in less than a minute! The programmer/gauge also acts as a standard tire gauge with accuracy from 5-99 PSI in .5 PSI increments so when you do need to add air to your tires, you can insure an accurate fill. Reviews Worked OK for about a year then the valve caps stopped working -- they would flash but no longer reliably indicated the tire pressure. The gauge continues to function but the backlit display is hard to read (very sensitive to the viewing angle regardless of whether it's in sunlight or in the garage). Bought this in June; now it's October and the hand unit batteries are dead. Opened it up and found the 2 AAA alkaline batteries had leaked. Cleaned it up and replaced the batteries to find the unit non-functional. Also, the LEDs in the tire stem units are too dim to see except at night in the dark. The instructions could be a lot better. Good idea; poor implementation; not worth the price. I'm discarding. Wish I could rate this less than 1 star. I like the light, but it's hard to get the thing attached to the tire thingy. It takes several attempts. I prefer the old fashioned ones...they're quicker! Installed this product in early January. Since then, one tire deflated over night because the cap unit loosened up and allowed air to escape. Then, two units kept loosing their program. And the final straw ... noticed a tire low this morning (February), but could not remove the cap. Apparently, it fused to the aluminum stem. In my struggles, I ended up breaking off the stem. Great! Low tire and no way of adding air. Thanks Accutire!!! At least the core stayed in the stem (if only by two threads) so I wasn't stranded in the snow and 17F temps with a totally flat tire. My local tire shop said fusing is a common problem with after-market caps and aluminum stems. Don't buy this product, especially if you have aluminum stems. They're easy to use and the concept is good, but one was defective out of the box (kept indicating high pressure) and the others give an accurate signal only intermittently. Accutire replaced the initial defective one, but all are misbehaving now. The gauge is good, but obviously you can get a good gauge for less.
